When Wearing Heels, How Long Should My Pants Be?
The bottom of the pants really shouldn't be touching the floor. It can ruin the hemline of the slacks; a heel could get caught in the pants; and it's just a little on the sloppy side - especially in a professional atmosphere.
It's best if the hemline of the pants falls between the top of the heel and mid-heel (heel of the shoe, not heel of the foot), breaking at about back to mid-arch of your instep. You want the pant leg to hang straight, rather than bunching at the top of your foot.
Not allowing your pants to drag the floor or gather at the top of your shoes gives a clean, professional and flattering appearance, as well as a long, lean silhouette.
